Re: Granite pricing... is this a good price?
I don't think it's high but it depends upon what granite (some are very basic and inexpensive and some are very expensive) and if they include everything else (some charge to cut the hole for the sink or the faucet, for example). And you have to make sure it's inch and a quarter thick (some use a slightly thinner granite and then you need a backer board for it). Also, they may not let you choose the actual slab - you might just choose the granite and they use the next slab in the lot. If you don't like the edge choices, it will cost to change to another one. But no, I don't think it's a bad price - granite is expensive!

It depends on how much you need. Did you measure your square footage?
That price quoted is for up to 30 sqft. Are you close to 30sqft?
If you only need 20 sqft, then it may not be as hot of a deal.

AH! good point! i don't have much footage, not sure how much, but not much. we are moving the boiler out of our levit ranch, and are anticipating on a complete re-do of the kitchen... so i am looking at all sales in all the papers and such. our kitchen wraps around the front of the house, so it's bigger than original, but not that big at all. it could be sooo much better if designed better.

Re: Granite pricing... is this a good price?
My contractor recommended them to me. We went to the store to see both the colors and the edging. We picked out the actual slab they cut our piece from. They even gave us a piece to take home with us. My entire kitchen (not very big) didn't cost that much so as a PP said, get your dimensions. If it's not cost effective, you can go there and pay by the sq foot. The free sink, delivery time, and financing is standard for them. If you have any questions, feel free to send FM.

we had 37 sq feet and it was 2700. We had an upgraded edge and granite though. I would say it's a good price if you like the color of granite

Re: Granite pricing... is this a good price?
My neighbor used Naploi - He got the $39.99 deal for the granite. His wife liked a very simple Tan granite that the store had on that deal. They were very happy with them. Just dont use them for a backsplash. Their guy was very unreliable. In the end my neighbor had to call someone else to do it.
Each week the store picks a few different colors and puts them on sale

I paid about $70 sq (installed) foot 4 years ago, but for a more unique granite. stainless sinks are pretty inexpensive (200-400) for good brands - so make sure you get a good sink included!

Re: Granite pricing... is this a good price?
make sure to go there and look at the slab make sure its not overly veiny. i believe the veins are weak and to many veins and you could actually drop something on it and crack a piece off
if they have a color you like, then I think its a good price.

Re: Granite pricing... is this a good price?
I went to Napoli to get prices and they were about $1K more than everywhere else I went (I needed 56sq ft). I would look around and definitely have someone come in and measure so you know how much you need first.

Also some of the lower grades of granite have to be sealed constantly, and can still stain if something like grape juice is spilled on it. I would personally recommend K&K in Bethpage, both me and SIL had a great experience with them.
