Granite vent-So furious!
So we decided to splurge and get a granite countertop for our bathroom that we are redoing. The fabricator came and installed the slab a couple of weeks ago. To me, it looked like something was a little off...I couldn't tell if they mounted the sink strangely or what, but DH said it was just my imagination. Well, the plumber came to install the faucet and now the problem is very clear. With the faucet in you can tell that the faucet holes are drilled off center! They are about 1/4 of an inch to the left. I know I am not crazy because I've already had people mention it to me. The stupid granite fabricator is telling us that once we accept installation there is nothing they will do What can I do? Has anyomne had anything similar happen to them? The place, by the way, was Exotic Stones in Farmingdale.

Is it off center as it relates to the vanity? In other words, are the holes centered on the Granite itself?

Hmmmm I see what you are saying. I would call the place and let them know the problem you are having now due to the faucets being installed. I would insist they re do it.

The holes are not centered to the sink. They are too far to the left. I have called the place. They are essentially telling me because I took delivery of it there is nothing they will do.

Sorry it happened. You could try the BBB. I usually find them to be useless. What about filing a complaint with the NYS Consumer Protection Board. I hope your issue gets resolved.

I would just sue them in small claims. Why tool around with the BBB?
Sue them and slap a nice judgement against them. This will be far more effective than any complaint you can file.

That is what I was thinking. Does anyone know how to go about doing that?

It's REAL easy. If they are in Suffolk, you can go to Second District Court in Lindenhurst. It's right next to the Lindenhurst LIRR Station.
District Court of Suffolk County? - more info » 30 E Hoffman Ave, Lindenhurst, NY? - (631) 854-1121?
Go down there and speak to a clerk. Tell her you want to sue them. She will give you a form to sign. Give them $20 bucks and pick a court date. They mail and serve them.
Once they get served, they will most likely call you and say WTH and then try to settle.
Also you may have to go to Nassau instead of suffolk. It really depends on where you are located and where they are located. I would first call them and explain the situation and they will direct you to where to go. They are very helpful there.
