Re: Gray hairs?
OMG my hair is getting so gray too. I know some people do dye their hair during pregnancy but I have read not to. I just might ride it out, wear my hair up a lot, and make that one of the first things I do after the baby is born.

Re: Gray hairs?
As someone who has colored her hair since 17 because I had to and I'm over 80% white, white, white as the driven snow, I waited as long as I could.
I need the creme colorant to cover the grey and IMO, no way was I doing that. That stuff smells so nasty and I'm not convinced it doesn't affect the babies.
I bought a "natural" hair dye at Fairway. $10 a box, and I needed two, but it contains no ammonia or many other chemicals. Can't remember the name but it's made in Italy. I'm buying more on Monday so I'll let you know.
I have a bit of a lighter solid streak down my head where my white roots are but it's better than looking like the "Skunk Girl" I did

Re: Gray hairs?
My doctor said to wait until the 1st trimester was over. My appt. is in 2 weeks (from today...think I'm counting down!!)...I think I'll be 17 weeks then and I would have done it sooner, but couldn't get my "guy."
I get a single process, semi-permanent color...vegetable dye. I thought only the permanent color was suspect.
Anyhow, I'm at the point now where the roots are becoming evident and I'm plucking some grays. My mom said in between colorings she uses some sort of "color pen" thing that washes right out. I may look into that. She gets hers at a beauty supply place, but I think I've seen it at CVS, etc.

Re: Gray hairs?
My doctor told me to wait until after the first trimester, which I did. I've had it highlighted twice since then but haven't put dye on the actual roots or scalp. The books I have also say it's ok. I guess I wouldn't have done it if my doctor told me to stay away.

Re: Gray hairs?
I don't have grays but I used to highlight. I am hearing mixed things and because of that I am just going to let my hair "go" until after the baby comes. If you have gray though, I have heard that a vegetable rinse is safe.

Re: Gray hairs?
I highlighted to cover my gray since it never touches your scalp its safer than dye.
Maybe the henna dyes are ok as temporary fix.
