Great Neck/ Little Neck - Any yummy places?
Well... the move to Great Neck may be happening this coming June. DH and I live in Brooklyn and are terrified that we're entering a barren land of good food. Any recommendations on yummy places? Good ethnic cuisine??

There are so many good places to eat in Great Neck. I love Wild Ginger! There's also an awesome sushi place; I'll have to find the name, though. Great Neck village is really nice to walk around. There's a park nearby.
And it's only a 30 minute train ride into NYC.

Re: Great Neck/ Little Neck - Any yummy places?
I moved here from Brooklyn also! DH was already in Great Neck, and I worried about the same thing. There are some good places to eat. Wild Ginger actually is not one of my favorites, although it's always crowded so it seems people like it. There is a seafood place called Turquoise which is good. There's also a decent Japanese fusion place in the same mall Wild Ginger is in (forget the name). Also some good Italian places, and a Peter Luger if you want to splurge.
Little Neck has some good Chinese places, a Thai restaurant, and a few Greek/Afghani restaurants. It's hard to park there, but it's a short walk from where we live.
It's not as diverse as Brooklyn, but you won't have much trouble findinging places to eat.

You will be fine.
The BEST sushi I have ever had is at a small storefront just on the border of Little Neck and Great Neck called Family Sushi on Northern.
There are good pizza places in town and you can always go to Bayside to Bell Blvd for a bunch of nice restaurants.

There is a ton of good food in the great neck area!
Wild Ginger is good.
There are a ton of steak houses nearby (peter Lugar's, Morton's, Burton & Doyle etc).
There is an Il Mulino in Roslyn, about a 10 minute drive from GN.
Santorini my love if you like greek food.
the list goes on and on!

Re: Great Neck/ Little Neck - Any yummy places?
DH grew up in Little Neck & I lived there for 2 years after we got married. I second Vespa & Wild Ginger.
Also Conti's, La Grotta & Baci on Northern Blvd. in Little Neck. (Italian) I like Conti's the best. Get a French Martini on the rocks - YUM.
In Great Neck for steak - Mortons, Peter Lugar, Burton & Doyle.
I like Uncle Jack's on Bell in Bayside for steak also.
Can you tell we went out to eat alot?
Tell DH not to worry.

I guess you would call it Asian Fusion.
It's a mix of Thai, Chinese & Japanese. If you go to kpsearch.com I think they have a link to their web-site under the restaurant section.

Re: Great Neck/ Little Neck - Any yummy places?
There is a great Sushi place on Great Neck Rd, near Northern called Zutto, really nice atmosphere too. I'm sure everyone will tell you to go to Daruma but Zutto is much better and less crowded. I also love Wild Ginger too! And of course steak house row is the best! Pancho's is good Mexican. Vespa is awesome!!

Kisso in the Lake Success shopping center has good sushi!
There are so many places to eat in this area. You have Bell Blvd like the girls above said. Wild Ginger in Great Neck is great. I've never been to Vespa, but i've heard good things. La Trattoria and Stella in Floral Park is really good; just a 5 minute drive from Great Neck/Little Neck
