Great place to spend the day in Islip
We have been taking Ava to Islip Beach on South Bay in the Town of Islip.
It is a great little beach with life guards and no waves. There is a snack bar with, burgers, fries, chicken fish and all sorts of snacks and ice cream. There are also restrooms, showers and a really nice playground. They also have those old-school bbq's that use charcoal and 2 gazebos with picnic tables.
The best part is- is that it is small, and you can literally park inches from the sand. You don't have to schelp all of your gear a million miles.
You are suppossed to have a Town of Islip card to get in, but they have not checked once all summer. You can get the Town pass at Town Hall on Montauk Highway or at Brookwood Hall. It is $20 for 3 years.
It is worth checking out.

Yes, I used to go there all of the time. DD hasn't gotten used to sand yet so I haven't attempted it with her. Great little beach.
