Great. This is SO not what we need! UPDATE
DH is a FDNY EMT, he texted me earlier tonight that he was exposed to Hep B and is in the Coney Island ER
He will probably be off work for a month b/c even though he is low risk for contracting the disease, they still want him on a preventitive cocktail of medicine that makes you physically ill...for a month.
This is going to be rough
ETA: He just got home and it is AZT to prevent HIV that they gave him. The patient denied having it. Man, this is some mindf*ck.

He is vaccinated for EVERYTHING, but I am guessing it is just a precaution

Ugh- that sucks. At least he'll be home with you for a month (although if he's sick from the meds that might not be so great....)

My BIL is also EMS FDNY and was exposed to menengitis when my sister was PG. The precautions are very necessary. I hope he doesnt feel to sick from everything.

Kate, that's crazy It's crap like this that makes you wonder what the he ll is wrong with people. Someone is trying to HELP you, why wouldn't you tell them something that could HELP them?
