Grete Waitz, a nine-time winner of the New York City Marathon and an Olympic medalist, died early Tuesday. She was 57.
ETA: She was truly an inspiration to many many people as well as a generous human being.

OMG - when I heard them say her name and then list her achievements on the radio today, I just knew 
She was seriously one of my role models as a teen.
