Grief Counselor/Therapist recommendations please
I'm looking for a bereavement counselor or therapist in the Lindenhurst area that accepts Aetna insurance. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Thank you. It's for a family member. Im hoping for someone who comes recommended because I know this will be a one shot deal. Meaning if she isn't comfortable.

Re: Gried Counselor/Therapist recommendations please
DH aunt lost her husband to cancer a few years ago.
She joined a bereavement support group through the local parish I believe and it's been wonderful for her.
She's made some new lifelong friends from the group, and they hang out often....even travel together.
JMO but while I think therapy can be great, just having people to lean on who actually understand because they are going through the same thing is priceless.

Grief counseling can make a world of difference for someone. I brought a friend to a counselor at Memorial Sloan Kettering after she lost her best friend there. It was offered free to anyone who was listed as family or close friend of the person who died, and she was on that list.

Imo she needs a support group... but she's not ready for it. I'm hoping by expressing her feelings 1:1 she will be open to a group setting
