Grits.

I love them - particularly when I visit my parents down south and order them with breakfast.

So. Gooooooooood.

I make the Quaker Quick Grits but it just ain't the same. The grains are smaller. It's not the same texture.

Does anyone know what kind of grits I need to get for a larger-grain texture...what brand/where to buy?

And for other grits fans...how do you like your's? I like a lot of hot sauce and lowfat grated cheese...if I'm feeling bad, then butter as well. And LOTS of black pepper. Delish!

Re: Grits.

my southern brother in law told me to do the quick grits, but to keep them on a lower flame and to cook them longer -we do them much longer than the 5 minutes it says. We do them for like 15 minutes. They turn out creamier. Then I shred up a ton of cheddar and mix it in. I love cheese grits. Im not big on plain.

Re: Grits.

I do not like instant grits even a little bit. You can buy white grits from The Old Mill online and they are very good! They sell yellow too.. but that's not what I prefer..
