growth sono today? big babies?
Hello there,
Had a growth sono today, and I will be 27 weeks on sunday.
They thought the babies were on the bigger side. (sono tech made more of a deal out of it than the Dr.)
2lb 9oz for girl 2lb 13oz for boy
What do you think? Were your babies about that? smaller ? bigger? at that age gestation

Re: growth sono today? big babies?
Mine were about that size at 28w, 3 days. A piece of good advice I got here is to ask them what the percentile is. That helps keep the perspective. And great job!!

Re: growth sono today? big babies?
Ok..so it's not sooo crazy. boy was 97%..not sure about the girl..but obviously less. They are both growing at about the same rates though percentile wise, so thats good news to me
A big baby would not be out of the question, I have a 6'3" DH...but also waiting on my GD results..keeping fingers crossed I bypass that issue.

Re: growth sono today? big babies?
mine were born at 27wk5 days and were 2 lbs 4 oz and 2 lbs 2 oz at birth so I would say they are a little on the bigger side, but it doesn't seem like anything to be worried about.

Re: growth sono today? big babies?
Barring GD, bigger is better. My girls measured above average for twins 2 weeks before I delivered (I delivered 2 days before my next growth sono apt). They were still below average for a singleton though. They were both born at good weights (5lb 15 oz and 5 lb 8 oz at 36 wks) but measured a week behind what they should have at birth.
ETA, per the growth sono, B was half lb bigger and they should have both been over 6 lb. Growth sonos are not always accurate. A was 1/2 lb bigger.
