Grrr to my family...
My mom just calls me and says: are you buying for all the kids tomorrow??
I say mom- its easter... we never exchange, why this year?
She says, well Im sure everyone is gonna buy for RJ since he is the new baby...
So now- I guess I will find myself scurrying arounf for easter "gifts" for my 3yr old cousin, and his 13 yr old brother (who prob will be with his father, and I wont even see him)
As well as for my aunt (by marriages) granddaughter, who I have met ONCE in my life, and will certainly not be there SINCE SHE IS NOT FAMILY!!!!
Since when is easter a gift giving holiday?
Im sorry if I sound like a scrooge, but I didnt do more than cards for my own family... I just dont see why now, all of a suggen we need to give presents!

Re: Grrr to my family...
That IS annoying. Why don't you just bring one basket of goodies for all the kids who are there to share?
I don't think you should suddenly give gifts.

I buy for my nieces and nephews, but just a chocolate bunny, or I make a little Easter basket for them. Getting gifts is getting too carried away for me.

omg I said this to my friend yesterday, as I was driving to meet her I drove past a car dealership and there at the side of this very busy road/hwy is this Easter Bunny jumping up and down like a lunatic hawking people in. At a car dealership. When did he become like Santa? (or the like)
Don't get me wrong the Easter bunny is coming to my house, my son is getting a little basket with some treats and small trinkets. But its like a private thing for Easter morning, a tradition passed down in the family, why does it have to hit you in the face everywhere you turn? With several aisles in the store dedicated to Easter "gift giving"?
Sorry for rambling! LOL
Marissa! Walmart has little $1.00 choco bunnies or eggs filled with M&M's, etc..... try there!

Re: Grrr to my family...
I usually get baskets for our Godchildren. But this year we got them 25.00 savings bonds instead. 1/2 of them are overweight, so I don't feel comfortable sending more candy.

Re: Grrr to my family...
Oh God, dont start this or you will be in for it every year.
If you feel totally obligated, but them each a little chocolate bunny and that's it.
I dont think you have to start exchanging though - even if they buy something for the baby.

Re: Grrr to my family...
Well I went to target- it wasnt too bad...
I ended up making a little basket- there wasnt much to choose from...
I got both children some dora bubble tumbler, and a few plastic eggs with jelly beans in them...
I agree- this is totally ridiculous

Re: Grrr to my family...
I used to make a huge easter basket for my cousin's daughter but now we have 10 kids in the family so that tradition is O-V-E-R.
