Grrr...Fuming Mad At Work!
I am flying out for biz tomorrow, working on a Saturday, and getting home at about 2 Am Sunday morning. Monday my office is closed. Co. policy is that if you work a weekend, you get a comp day. So, I choose Friday. They are mad I'm taking Friday since we are closed Monday. Okay....everyone else has off on Saturday, why should I be gypped? UGH! Now I'm getting the attitude.

exactly. And I never take my vacation OR sick days; I am traveling to the West Coast AGAIN for them in another 2 weeks.....I never cause any trouble here.

thank you. I had to BEG for like $20 more a week....I swear, it's time for a change. I am so under appreciated. I also do my manager's job. I feel like Cinderella here. It's sad, too, because the mission of my company is excellent. Too bad no one believes in it or acts on it.

Exactly-- you give and give and GIVE and the second you try to take what you DESERVE and they act like "ugh, how dare you?" and they make you feel like all that you have done before is now "negated"!!

Actually I need to rephrase that. If I owned a company & had an employee that was willing to work a 3 day weekend, I should comp them accordingly. My company would not go bust with employees going above & beyond.

I'd say "I'll use a half day for Friday morning, and since I am traveling the second half of the day I'll save my remaining 1/2 comp day for another time!"
