Grrr...my digital camera stopped working!!!
I had one bar on the battery sign, so I decided to plop in the new rechargable fully charged batteries we got. Nada. So I plopped the others back in. Sometimes, they act new again. Still nothing. So I go home and recharge the batteries. Nothing. So I put in new regular batteries. Still nothing. So I go around testing all the batteries, regular and rechargable, in other things, like my cd player. Perfectly fine. What the hey???
So, recommendations? What are good things to have in a camera?

Hmmm, that sux! I have a Kodak Easy Share. It's not the fanciest of cameras, but it's simple to use and has taken a beating quite nicely

Re: Grrr...my digital camera stopped working!!!
A lot of people get sold on mega pixels but if you won't be printing bigger than an 8.5x11 you shouldn't get s*ucked up in that too much
The new cybershots (which are elfs) have image stabilization which is a nice feature to have.
Although alot of the other elfs out there now have 800 ISO
The canon powershots also have a pretty cute little feature where they can take rapid pictures which I think is wonderful when trying to catch awesome pictures of the kids.
If you go with the tiny camera's though, be prepared for dealing with red eye (although if you have photo editing software this really isn't too much of a big deal)
anyway, just a few random thoughts off the top of my head

We're going shopping soon. Any other recommendations? What camera do you have and do you loathe, like or love it?

I have the Canon SD450 (see link above). I love it! It has the large LCD screen (look at the picture of it) and the video quality is excellent (not grainy like most others I have seen). The downside to the big screen is short battery life, but if you turn the screen view offf when you don't need it that can help you out. Also, when you are shooting movies, they will take up alot of room on the memory card! I had to upgrade to a 2 gb memory card. As far as the picture quality goes, I can see a big difference between this camera and my old one (Kodak easyshare 3 mp) Maybe it is because of the 5 mp, but there are also great shooting modes on this camera! And it is tiny!
