Grrrr! Doing my diet plan for a month and I've lost 1 measley pound!
The first week I started on Monday but took my Fri weight, and so over the weekend I guess I gained 1.5 lbs. Lost 3 lbs over the next 2 weeks, and gained 0.5 lbs this week due to Easter (I weigh in on Fridays).
This is soooo frustrating!!! I know it is a slow process but seriously? Only 1 lb from April 1st?

Not since dieting, BUT Fri and Sat night we had birthday parties at bars, and I didn't realize a gin and tonic was 170 calories! I had about 3 or 4 on Friday. So I guess gaining 0.5 lbs with drinking and Easter isn't too bad...

Re: Grrrr! Doing my diet plan for a month and I've lost 1 measley pound!
I started on March 1st and I didn't start seeing a difference on the scale until now (end of april). i was maintaining my weight for awhile.
i dont know why that is but jillian michaels has said that your metabolism takes time to regulate 30-90 days before you can start to see a loss. because if you havent been exercising or eating right before it takes your body a lot of time to repair itself and to start to condition itself - your heart, your muscles, etc. It has to repair, start building and strengthening and then it adjusts to the new diet/exercise routines and starts to show.
Don't think of it as wasted time. IT IS PROGRESS and at least it is a pound GONE and NOT a pound gained!!! That is still a HUGE accomplishment in itself since it is a lot harder to lose than it is to gain.

Really? Wow! That makes me feel a little better. I'm keeping with it for sure, and I'm trying to stay positive.

Re: Grrrr! Doing my diet plan for a month and I've lost 1 measley pound!
Why not just make the focus about doing something good for your body, and feeling good while doing it?
I sometimes feel when people focus too much on the pounds they lose weekly, then it is a temporary focus instead of thinking of the overall lifestyle changes you are making for yourself.
If you do this.... forever - you will eventually lose that weight. If you lost 10 lbs immediately, wouldn't you maybe slack off a little? Would you think maybe you lost more than you expected and then "make up" for a little by eating something you shouldn't, or skipping a workpout?
I think our bodies adjust slowly to long term lifestyle changes than quick-fix short change ones.
I know for me - it took about a year to lose 10 lbs. But I never, EVER saw those 10 lbs ever again. I would rather that than lose 25-30 lbs immediately and then see them creep on and off throughout the same year... KWIM?
I would suggest you just stay away from the scale. If the scale isn't reflecting your hard work, then why torture yourself with it on a daily or weekly basis? Do the hard work and be proud of the lifestyle you are creating for yourself, rather than beat yourself up for doing work for "no reason"....

Re: Grrrr! Doing my diet plan for a month and I've lost 1 measley pound!
I think anyone that is on a diet should at least in the beginning, keep a food journal. You may be suprised that you are eating more that your plan allows or maybe not eating enough, which is another cause for weight loss stalls.
Many people take bites of stuff here and there and don't count them, but they add up, or they exercise and don't eat enough, which your body thinks you are starving yourself.
I would also start taking measurements. Sometimes people lose inches before they really start seeing the numbers on the scale.
Good luck!
