GRRRR MIL vent!!! (sorry LONG)

So, my MIL could really care less about us. She goes through phases where she will call or IM or send a package, but it isn't regularly. DH has struggled with it A LOT and doesn't want to cater to her and her whims.

So, psycho nutball SIL is flying on Christmas Day with her 2 year old and DH to Tampa, then driving across the State to MIL to spend Christmas with her. So, MIL calls DH today and b!tches him out for not coming too

First of all, witch woman, WE are hosting our first ever Christmas HERE (which we invited her to, but we knew she wouldn't go to) and secondly, we are going to BE in Florida on the 30th before our cruise and she won't come see us or meet us in between

She THEN proceeds to tell Chris that it isn't fair that we do everything with my family but "what can you expect, they have so much more money then I do"

Chris and I have agreed we aren't going down there again until she comes to visit us in NY (we were there in July) or the next time she will see us and DS is at the family reunion in July.

But I hate that she makes DH feel bad about it AND that she has NO idea about my child....why should WE have to constantly fly to Florida to see her?

Honestly, she sounds like a real prize. I would just have your Dh tell her that you would have loved to see her for Christmas, and it had never been discussed for you to go there and now you have made your own plans. If money is seriously an issue for her, I would buy her an open ended ticket to come visit you guys for Christmas. That should shut her up.
