Grrrr! not so baby friendly resturant!

So, I booked reservations at this really nice resturant over a year ago for Christmas eve. I told them then that I would have a 10 month old and if they could seat us near a door so I could get up and take the baby out if she was getting to cranky so I wouldn't disturb people. The guy I spoke to was very nice and said he'd make sure we had a good table and that it was very thoughtful of me to do this.

Well.... last night, I called the resturant to confirm the reservations and made sure they knew about my table request. They guy I spoke to was VERY rude to me and told me that they don't have accommodations for babies (no high chairs) and that the tables are already spoken for and that he will not honor my request for a table out of the way. I asked him what I should do with a baby and no high chair and he said to bring my own! I told him that I have one that attaches to the table and to make sure I have a table that would accommodate that and he said that he couldn't accommodate that request! W T F????

My DH got on the phone and told him that I had made these requests over a year ago and that this resturant had no problems with what we needed and were very nice to us. He told us that if we wanted to eat there we would have to bring our own high chair and that they havent' had a highchair in the resturant for over 30 years.

I have eaten there many times and will never go back. Luckily another nice resturant squeezed us in for tonight.

I can't believe they would be so rude and so unaccommodating to a family!

What are your thoughts???

I would like to know what restaurant it is also!!

I know we tried to go to a restaurnt in August for my Mom's Birthday and they couldn't accomidate us because they didn't have highchairs and I thought itwas Insane! We ended up going across the street to a very nice restaurant who gave us a great table, had highchairs, and awesome food, as well as live music!

What a pain in the neck!

sheesh with a story like that Id be yelling the name of the restaurant from the hilltops! I give you credit for keeping that private

HOW RUDE, thats insane and unacceptable.
Children are a big part of life, good memories, special times and happy occassions. ANY establishment that caters to families and treats their customers this way deserves a NICE blotch of negative publicity.
