Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I just figured out when I have to go in for my baseline sono, and it turns out that it happens to fall on Thanksgiving, which falls on my birthday this year!!!

So, I will have to get up at 4am to schlep into Manhattan on the busiest travel day of the year, and then come home and cook dinner for DH and my parents on my birthday!

I have a feeling its going to be paper plates and sweats this year!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Sorry Lisa. Any chance you can get DH to pitch in with the cooking. Also, what about asking each guest to bring a side dish.

Good luck:)

Hey, why not?? You have more important things to worry about than lining the stomach of everyone else that day...better than cooking, how about going out?? You will need to rest, after allChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thanks girls!

I really don't mind cooking, in fact, I love to cook! We are having new appliances delivered this week, so I will be excited to use them!

Thanksgiving has always been "my" holiday since my mom went into labor with me at Thanksgiving dinner Chat Icon

We went out every year since I was a baby to my grandparents club, and since they passed away, I just like to stay home. We went to AC a few years ago, and it S UCKED bigtime!!! The only other option is to have my mom cook...nuff said!!

So I guess everyone will have to deal with a very casual T-day this year!

Lisa,
Why not make the sides and then get turkey from boston market (we get it pre cooked and pre cut for our dept's holiday ) its actually good! or maybe a ham from honey baked ham? Thus taking away the huge tasksf or the day?

Thats funny! I was actually thinking of getting the sides there and making the turkey!! The turkey is the easy part, the sides take more work for me!

Re: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Lisa, I think we lead parallel lives...blocked tubes, November birthdays, procedures done on Thanksgiving....I wonder what else!

I have a feeling my IUI is going to land on Thanksgiving and I'm hosting this year! That should be fun! My bday is on the 29th. It's been on Thanksgiving before.

Sorry you have to schlep into the city on Thanksgiving, but honestly, I think it's a good sign. Our babies to be are going to give thanks to use for conceiving them on Thanksgiving!

OMG, I'm such a cornball..must be the Clomid!

Chat Icon Good luck!

Re: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Sorry Lisa!!

But you should def think about getting the sides, desserts etc "catered" so all you need to worry about is the turkey!!

Good luck!
