Grunting??

So far Miss Cameron is a very mellow baby but she does this grunting thing when I lay her down at night. She doesn't cry and she is still asleep but it literally keeps us up all night long. And since she in only 4 weeks old, I can't bear to take her out of our room yet. Mylicon did nothing and I'm not even sure if its gas. She only seems to do this at night. Have any of you experienced this? HELP! The bags under my eyes couldn't get any worse!! TIA

Re: Grunting??

As wierd as this sounds how has she been pooping??... My son did this for a short time when he was little, and it proved just to be minor constipation.. only overnight though..

I am not sure how old she is, but maybe a different formula could make her feel a little more comfy at night.. If shes on solids maybe oatmeal instead of rice before bed.. Good Luck!!

Re: Grunting??

My baby made so much noise in her sleep for the first 8 weeks. We called her a little goat. Sounds totally normal to me. If it was painful gas, she wouldn't be sleeping through it. Eventually you will get used to it, but sounds to me like you need the sleep more. Are her hungry noises louder than the grunts? If so, what about moving her just outside your doorway?

oh we used to call Kevin a wild boar. He would grunt in his bassinet a lot in his sleep. From what I know it is perfectly normal!

Alex did this too, I was worried that he might be constipatided but the ped said no. She said that because they haven't developed their stomach muscles it takes some effort to go to the bathroom or to pass some gas.

Re: Grunting??

Weird...so does Sidney. We call her a grunting elephant. She grunts and makes noises that sound like an elephant trunk. Happens about 1 hr into her sleep only at night and lasts till I can't take it any more and wake her to feed her. I was gonna ask you about this!!! I can't tell if she is trying to wake herself up to eat??????
