When you chose the color your # is, then on the next screen it divides those #'s (5 of them) in five seperate boxes, so it knows your # before the balls and doors

Process of elimination, like APs mentioned. In the final screen with the doors, whatever door you pick, they display your number. If you open the other doors, they just put a random number in there to make you think it "knew" which door you were going to pick. The computer justs knows what number to display in whatever door is picked first.
