guys, I really need help/suggestions with this...my brain is shot but we NEED a stroller
tell me about these strollers and why you would get one over the other.
chicco trevi
Maclaren techno xt
maclaren triumph
maclaren quest sport
Peg Perego Si Corallo
Peg Perego Pliko P3
what I need for this stroller to do is to be used most of the year (not too light that it can't be used in winter) and to be comfy for him now at 4.5 months and at 2 years old. also needs to be durable enough to ride in the city. I don't necessarily need to be able to put the car seat in it, as we'll probably only use this walking in Brooklyn and not necessarily after a car ride.
I have the Chicco car seat that I really like but I also have the Maclaren easy rider car seat frame that is a dream...very light weight and easy to open/close.
I also like the way the Peg perego's ride.
so based on these criteria/specs, which do you think? I am not limited in price, though I'd like to get the best for the lease amount of money....
thanks for your help. I just can't decide.

Re: guys, I really need help/suggestions with this...my brain is shot but we NEED a stroller
We have the chicco and I love it. I know nothing about the others. My DS is 2 1/2 and he is really comfy in it. Enough so that he passes out in it when we push him. Sorry I am not more help. I say go to the store push them all around, fold them up, see how heavy they , and which one has features you want. That would be my suggestion

Re: guys, I really need help/suggestions with this...my brain is shot but we NEED a stroller
I had a MacLaren Volo and it was "ok". It didn't recline and it was too cold during the winter. Then we bought a MacLaren Quest and I LOOOOOVE it. A much smoother ride, even over the bumpy areas. The seat has a lot more cushion so it is usable in the winter and summer. Lightweight, easy to use, flexible. My favorite stroller of all (and I have 5)

I'm obsessed with the City Mini (though I don't have one ) but I think DH would divorce me if I got another stroller
I have a Maclaren and I'm really not a fan. He doesn't seem comfy in it, and I hate that it tips when I take him out and my bag is on.

Re: guys, I really need help/suggestions with this...my brain is shot but we NEED a stroller
My Maclaren Quest Sport is still in the box , but I love the Peg Perego Pliko P3. It moves really smoothly and is pretty lightweight. It's easy to fold and unfold. DS is 15 months and is very comfortable in it. We started using it when we retired the snap n go at 8 months. I like that it has a snack tray and a really big sun shade. I like that the harness is secure on him, but doesn't have to be attached to the seat. It allows him to move more freely in the stroller.

Have you considered this one??
http://pliko.pegperegousa.com/switch-reversible-seat.html
It's the peg perego pliko switch. It's a great stroller and it has the fantastic feature of being able to reverse the seat so while the baby is still so small/young, you can still face him the way you do when he is in the infant carrier.
Buy Buy Baby also sells it but not sure if they have it on the website. Image Attachment(s):

Quite a few women have this stroller in my building and they LOVE it!
The only thing about Maclarens is that they don't have a snack tray and if you have a broad child, they look so squished in there! I have the Mac Double and don't use it any more because of this!

Re: guys, I really need help/suggestions with this...my brain is shot but we NEED a stroller
DS loves our Maclaren Quest Sport.
I love how compact it is when folded and how light it is in general. DS is close to 30 lbs, so I needed something light!!!
I don't like the basket. It is useless IMO.
I am now looking for a double and am trying to decide between the Maclaren and Citi Mini.

Jess I don't want to go all "Just wait" on you but I would at the very least consider a stroller that has the option of adding a snack tray later on... it's been a lifesaver for us more times than I can count in terms of avoiding tantrums. DS is not a huge snacker but when I need to get things done, being able to put fruit or healthy snacks in there to keep him happy and occupied is a valuable resource
I don't know anything about the strollers themselves though

Re: guys, I really need help/suggestions with this...my brain is shot but we NEED a stroller
I have the Maclaren Quest Sport and while I loved it at first because it was light and compact, I hated going anywhere with it because it would tip over once DD got out of it if I hung my diaper bag on it.
And you can't access the basket if the seat is reclined.
And it tipped over when DD was in it once because I had too many bags hanging on it (going from the car to the house).
I don't know from the other strollers listed.

hmmm...are there any strollers with "no tip" technology that are similar (ie not travel strollers/systems)?

Re: guys, I really need help/suggestions with this...my brain is shot but we NEED a stroller
I wouldn't recommend the Maclaren Triumph for what you need it for. I have one as a second, smaller stroller for DS. We used it for quick trips to the mall. Nothing outdoors. It doesn't really handle well on the sidewalk. Very bumpy ride. Also, it tips if you have anything hanging on the handles, the basket is small and hard to reach if the seat is reclined, there is no cup holder for you and no snack tray for the baby. The snack tray isn't just for snacks - it's for toys and DS used to love to put his bottle or cup in it. They sell cup holders for parents to attach but they never worked well.

None of the strollers I have had have had snack trays and it has never been an issue. I mean, I am sure she would love one, but I don't regret not having one.

Re: guys, I really need help/suggestions with this...my brain is shot but we NEED a stroller
We have the Peg Perego Pliko 3. I think if we lived in the city we would have gotten more use out of it. It's very sturdy, my son seems comfortable in it, and I like the way it feels. The basket (on the bottom) is kind of hard to get to.
But I think it's heavy. I can't imagine folding it up to go on the subway, for example. Or walking up a few flights of stairs with it (I'm thinking about our old Bklyn apt).
B/c we live in the burbs we didn't use the stroller as much as I thought we would. I hate malls and my son was either in the car or in our arms. We got a ton of use in the summer walking on the boardwalk with this stroller: chicco, pretty cheap
