gym prices
Now that we're almost into spring weather, I've been thinking about joining a gym. Can anyone share which gym they belong to and how much they pay per month? Thanks!

i was a member at LA fitness and i paid about $250/yr i would pay upfront so that got me the low rate vs 50$ a month
now im a member at La fitness. paid 20$/month ( yr up front) because of their locations ( chelsea, astoria and soon in great neck) free tanning included and i can bring a friend to work out w/me for free

My DH looked into the one by us in Suffolk County and they were $50 a month!

Planet Fitness. $10 a month. There's different packages- this was the cheapest. I can only go to the one location where I signed up. For $25 a month (I think) you can go to any PF location and use their tanning beds.

$10 a month at Planet Fitness - I can only use one location. PF is a no frills gym so no classes are offered. All I need/want is free weights and a treadmill so you can not beat the price!

$39 a month at LA Fitness in New Hyde Park - but my job gives me back $25 per month, so it's like $15 a month. We did the month to month contract, but if we were to have signed up for the 3 year up front contract comes up to a lot less.

$40 at Xsport in Massapequa (has everything including pool), I used to go to Retro in Farmingdale and that was 19.99 no frills.
I also belong to a kickboxing gym where its strictly kickboxing on the heavy bags and weight machines/free weights.

$199 a year at finest fitness in patchogue, this included most classes (not boxfit)
I am currently on a groupon at a local place that is just classes and a 15 package at a kickboxing place
after those are up it will be warm enough to do c25K or bike ride, and take classes on a 15pk for $45 per 15. (usually $5 per class).
my place with classes has pole fitness, cardio kickboxing, zumba, pound ETC ETC

That's a really good price. Did you have to pay an initiation fee upfront?

Big Al's is $19.99 a month which includes most of their classes. I think it's $10 a month for just the use of the gym.i would recommend paying up front though. They get me with random fees otherwise and I think their customer service is terrible. I keep my membership active though hoping I will get back into the classes and they have good hours.

I go to Lucille Roberts in Rockville Centre and pay $20 a month. Still a good deal IMO.

I pay 60 a month at world gym wantagh but they have a great daycare and the most classes ever! Def pricey but it's 5 mins from home and I've been going there for years it's more of a family gym! I use it so I don't mind paying it.
