Islip is higher too. I think it depends on when you joined. If you join as a new member you get the higher rate.

I belong to Retro Fitness and love it. It's $20/month for a basic membership, which is what I have. If you want to add classes it's an additional $10.
I do weekly personal training, so that tacked on another $30/week.

i was a member at LA fitness and i paid about $250/yr i would pay upfront so that got me the low rate vs 50$ a month
now im a member at La fitness. paid 20$/month ( yr up front) because of their locations ( chelsea, astoria and soon in great neck) free tanning included and i can bring a friend to work out w/me for free
Wondering if you ever brought a friend? My friend signed up at LA Fitness and they told her she could bring a friend whenever she wanted....but when she tried to bring me they said it wasn't in the contract.....and it wasn't. They verbally told her but she couldn't prove it.

gym prices
I used to go to Twin Parks Fitness in Floral Park and it was $40/mo. I'm looking at gym prices now in Forest Hills and haven't found anything under $65/mo. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of walking.

We used to be signed up with the Bally's Total Fitness on Queens Blvd right off Union Tpke by the Duane Reade - I think it was $19.99 a month or $29.99.
Signed up w/ LA Fitness in New Hyde Park now and it's $40/month.
