HA HA! That was carrot puree in your mac & cheese, little miss!
I figured I would test this out myself. I had some carrots on hand and thought hmmmmm maybe carrots would work instead of butternut squash. Well, it did work! I steamed & pureed the carrots and added them to the cheese packet in a separate container. the mixed the carrot/cheese mixture into the pasta.
Gracie ate it up! In fact, she loved it. She kept saying "YUMMMMMMMMM" after every bite. I had to try it myself and it was really yummy, to my surprise.
I am now a deceptively delicious / sneaky chef believer!

I admit it was pretty good and you really could not taste the carrot in it. In fact, it made the cheese sauce creamier. if you use a 1/2 cup of pureed carrots (about a half bag of the baby carrots) per box, then you really cannot taste it. I hope it works for your 10yr old.

I really don't have a veggie issue with DS.
Does it work with DHs?

Great idea! Glad she liked it!!
I think this whole 'hiding veggies' thing is such a good idea, even if kids/you/hubby like veggies. You can't get too many veggies, you know? I love veggies, but I'm going to start doing this even to our food so we get even more veggies!

Hubby only eats corn and spinach, and both are getting really old in this house!
