Had a great night...but feel guilty

Yesterday was my and DH's anniversary, so my mom kept the kids overnight. DH and I had a great dinner at Lombardi's On The Sound and just got to spend nice, quiet quality time together. The kids are still at my moms and I am SOOOO enjoying the time alone, but I feel so guilty that I'm enjoying it THIS Much!

I think the problem is that DH and I don't do this often enough. We had really tried to have a "datenight" once a month, but it just doesn't happen, and I forget how nice it is to just spend time the 2 of us. So why the he!! do I have to feel so guilty? It's like I can't even completely enjoy our time togetherChat Icon

You shouldn't feel guilty!! Sometimes being away for a little time can be a benefit to the little ones. You'll be excited to see them and be able to give them a rested & energetic mommy!

Re: Had a great night...but feel guilty

Aww Chat Icon I could have easily written this post last weekend! My parents had Ava all weekend, and JT and I went to a Yankee game, then out to dinner and what not. I spent half the game crying because I felt so guilty for leaving. Do NOT feel guilty. I feel like I wasted so much time feeling guilty that I didn't appreciate my free time while I had it. You're the best mom, and you deserve some alone time!Chat Icon
