had an interesting day...sorry if tmi....long but funny
so knowing i had to have my first internal i decide to "clean up" if we all know what i mean.....so all of a sudden im bleeding and i cant stop....im now crazed.....i didnt even feel like i cut myself so im thinking oh my god what if im bleeding for some other reason.....so now my only worry is how do i get to the doc when i cant stop the bleeding....so i slap on a pad and go....get to the doc and have to now tell her im the jackassssss that decides to shave right before the internal and i cant stop bleeding.....so she looks and it was a hemangioma (sp?) that i mustve cut and i had to have it cortirized to stop the bleeding.....
now u think my interesting day is done???? nope....she then proceeds to do the internal and says cervix is already thinning and she is in position/effaced....but no dilation as of yet....and decides to measure my tummy and shes like wow this is a big baby....jen ur not having a little tike a little 6lber this is gonna be a big baby....so i mustve looked like i was about to faint and i said this is one baddddd day huh? shes like no not at all u have a great pelvis and i dont see a problem at all that shes measuring big.....so of course me being the moron i am go not a bad day?!!!!....i nearly cut off my va-jay-jay and now ur telling me im about to give birth to a horse!!!!!!!.... ....she then told me i have to go for a growth sono and told me not to worry about it
so i would love to hear others stories of estimated large babies and what happened at birth???? tia

I had my 39 week appt last night, and the Dr. asked me how big DS#1 was at birth. I told him 8 lbs, 3 oz and he said DS#2 has him beat already 
Thank God I'm having a c-section!!!

yea i know she sounded like my husband with the "babe u got great child bearing hips!" and then he laughs his asssss off when i tell him about this today and i say im glad ur laughing bc of course u dont have to try to push this big girl out of ur penis...for the love of god and all small children this is gonna be interesting to say the least

oh god!!!!!!!!!!! yea she tells me on the way out of the office well who knows she might just come early that way you dont have a 10lb baby on ur hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was she kiddin me with that comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yea definitely wasnt as bad as having to tell the nurse bc i had to pee in the cup and didnt want her to see blood and think the worst.....that was better she started laughing saying how they heck could u even see what u were doing down there....im like yup i believe THAT myfriend was the problem she was hysterical....that was worse then the doctor

Wow what a day Jen!!!!
The doctor told me at both the 36 and 37 week appointment that the baby is measuring big and will be close to 9 pound before birth (I didn't get a growth sono, this was based on the size of my belly and that measuring tape thing). The doctor also said, that I can totally handle it, since I am tall and there was no way I was going to have a small baby . Anyway,  was born at 37 weeks and 4 days and weighed 7 lbs 2 ounces. But my guess (and the doctors) was that if the little guy stayed in to 40 weeks, he would have been a "big baby." I kissed so much after delivering him and literally thanked him for coming early and being smaller than anticipated!!!

ok this gives me hope bc im 5'7 and dh is 6'3 ...the odds were against me...lolololol....seriously there was no way i was having a small baby too i guess......i actually was talking out loud to her on the way home from the doctor saying "pleassssssssssse come early" so hopefully she does the same thing that ur lil boy did

first of all
my dd was measuring big, at 37 weeks, 2 days, I had a growth sono and dd was measuring at 8lb, 3oz...I was induced at exactly 39 weeks due to a medical condition that I have. I did wind up with a c-section as my dd was in a bit of distress and dd was born at a whopping 9lb, 8oz....
my growth sono was VERY accurate
