Had my first internal

I am 32 weeks and omg it hurt like no pain I ever felt. My OB kept telling me to relax and breathe, but the pain was sooo bad! I was really surprised because I consider myself to have a pretty good tolerance. I saw an RE for 2 years to get pregnant, so I am no stranger to these types of exams

He said everything was closed and I wasn't dilated at all which is great, but I'm thinking maybe since I was so closed is why it hurt so bad. I know this is nothing compared to delivery which is why I'm worried. As of now, they're both head down. As long as they stay like that, we are going to try to avoid a c-section. I will definitely be asking for an epidural.

Anyone else's internal hurt? I'm dreading my next appt in 2 weeks

I had one internal at 36 weeks. I don't really remember it being that bad. I don't think I was dilated. But I remember my OB telling me my cervix was really soft.
