had my first m/s episode today
Ummm.....I don't think anything can prepare one for this...
I had little bouts of nausea here and there, but really nothing.
Until 4am this morning
I woke up feeling like I had motion sickness after coming off a boat-I ran to the bathroom thinking I would throw up and I didn't. It passed. I sat on my bathroom floor over the toilet feeling like I was going to pass out I was so nauseas..
Went back to bed-only to have the same episode at 4:30.
And then it happened again at 5:30.
I never threw up, but OMG!!
I went back to bed and woke up at 7:30. Still nauseas but nowhere near the intensity of those 3 episodes.
Do you think its gonna keep happening now? Tomorrow is officially 7 weeks. Guess the mega symptoms are slowly showing their face.

Re: had my first m/s episode today
It took me a few weeks of just feeling kinda sick to my stomach until i started to actually throw up every morning. I think it's very different for everyone. One thing I wondered (and almost asked about one day on here) was whether actually vomiting would make me feel better. But I decided I didn't want to force things, so I dealt with the nauseousness for a week or so... and then I just started to vomit first thing in the mornings on my own.
I did notice that once I'd throw up (or mostly dry heave / puke some stomach acids) I did feel better and could get on with my day.
Last Monday was the first day I threw up more than once during the day (5 times throughout the day) and then I didn't throw up for the next 5 days. Yesterday was the first day I didn't throw up in the morning but I threw up around 6 pm. But as soon as I did, I felt fine again and could eat. So weird.
Sorry if that's TMI! Just wanted to share my experiences! I really think everyone is different though.
I keep telling myself as long as I feel sick, something's going on right in there... Feel better!!!!

Re: had my first m/s episode today
ugh mine started at 10 weeks and has not stopped I am 17 weeks now. I have never puked so much in my life!!
It started like how you said and progressively got worse.....
hopefully for you it just stays like that and passes.
I am still miserable but happy b/c I know it is normal to be sick.
I feel for you!

Re: had my first m/s episode today
I have been fortunate to only be mildly nauseous this whole time.. .with the exception for one time a few weeks ago... and then yesterday morning when I threw up for the first time! (although I think that was related to my prenantal.. I guess I'll know for sure if it happens again .... )
I totally know what that nausea is like and it STINKS... such a helpless feeling and it's not like you can watch TV or distract yourself... when you're nauseous there's nothing you can do but sit there and wait for it!

Re: had my first m/s episode today
6-7 weeks is *usually* when m/s starts. I lived on Saltines and Canada Dry ginger ale (has real ginger in it which helps with nausea). Even when I felt sick, I forced myself to eat a little because that always helped.
But, when it was really bad I just found that throwing up almost always made me feel better.

That's the brand I got-Canada Dry.
That was my lunch.
My nausea seems to have subsided--I'm just tired. I took a 2 hour nap.
Is it weird that I am happy to have the symptoms?

Re: had my first m/s episode today
I had m/s with this pregnancy and my 1st pregnancy and it started right around 6 weeks and lasted to 16 weeks. My best advice to you is don't let yourself get hungry, that's when I would get the most nauseous. Sour things also help like sour patch kids, lemonade etc. Hang in there!

Re: had my first m/s episode today
That's how it started for me -- waves of slight nausea throughout the day, no big deal then BAM last week it hit me sooo hard and now it is 24/7 and I have NO relief!
