Had my RE Appt. - Thanks again for your advice
Saw Dr. Stelling on Monday - I liked him immediately and feel 100% better about everything -
Unfortunately, my crappy insurance doens't cover anything infertility related, soooooooo, I'm going to have to play this by ear a bit and hope that step 1 (the oral clomid) makes me ovulate and I can get pregnant that way ........Anything that's going to run into crazy amounts of $$$ I'll have to switch over to DH's insurance for next year and go from there. - His covers 100% -
He ran all of my labs and I have another consult when I come back from vacation on June 2 - He said from my original labs (from the OBGYN) he thinks I have a mild case of PCO, and at first glance, thinks just getting me to ovulate should be enough .........I don't have any other symptoms (facial hair, acne etc) I asked him about losing weight b/c although I'm not obese, I'm definitely overweight for my height and build - He said sometimes a weight loss of 5-10% will help regulate your cycles and that is probably why I was ALWAYS completely regular when I was younger - I was getting much more exercise and was 30 - 40 lbs thinner! He gave me all of the possibilities if the oral clomid doesn't get the job done though - which I liked .....So, considering the fact that DH and I were JUST planning to start trying when my period suddenly disappeared, I figured we'd start at step one and get more agressive from there ...........He also told me about the test to be sure my tubes are not clogged, but we decided to wait a few months before doing that as well -
We'll see what my bloods say on June 2 though - Hopefully he doesn't find anything else completely 'off' with me -
Thanks again for all of your advice -

I'm glad you liked him !....He was my dr. when we conceived my DS in '05 (Clomid/IUI-3rd try) and we went back to them again and just got a BFP w/ IVF (IUI's didnt work this time)...Same thing, case of mild PCOS...We did have the HSG (for the tubes) done back in '05 just to be on the safe side though...Good Luck !!!!

good luck .
Just in case it is factoring in your decision, the HSG (the test to see if your tubes or clogged) should be covered by your insurance. I havent heard of any that dont cover the diagnostic tests.

I agree with Pauline.
Also, IMO you should consider the HSG prior to taking Clomid. If your tubes are blocked, you run a risk of an ectopic.
Good Luck with what you decide to do!
