Hair Clips, Hats - please tell me I am not alone
Ali WILL NOT wear them - no matter what she won't. It isn't even a game with her anymore - she gets mad.
I have been trying for many, many months - I don't know what to do about it.
For this same reason, I am having the hardest time getting her a Halloween costume - cause they ALL come with something for their head and she won't do it - any suggestions for getting her to like it - or somehow getting them to stay in without her ripping them out of her hair - with a chunk of hair in hand
Do to this I have to get her a hair cut - cause her hair is getting so long in the front and she won't let me put it back

Re: Hair Clips, Hats - please tell me I am not alone
Katherine was the SAME way. I would even try to put in the clips when she wasn't looking/distracted, but eventually she would notice and rip them out. My MIL (although she never admitted it, but I know the truth ) cut her bangs as a result!
Anyway, I have no advice or tips; it just took some time and closer to age 2--maybe around 18-20 months--she started liking clips, rubber bands, etc. Now she throws a fit if she doesn't have her ponytails in!

DDs rip hats off and shoes and anything else besides their one layer of clothes. I have no idea what I'm going to do once winter comes!

I couldn't get anything in Maddie's hair until she about 3 & noticed most princess wear things in their hair. When my neice gave her a polly pockets poster with that had a girl with her hair up, she was sold.

If you saw what it was like to put something in Sara's hair your would see you are not alone. I cannot do anything except brush her hair

Re: Hair Clips, Hats - please tell me I am not alone
I was just talking to my Mother about this b/c Ellie won't keep clips in and she suggested taking a favorite doll and putting a clip in the dolls hair and saying how pretty and maybe then she'll want the clip in her hair. Not sure if it will work but it's an idea.

None of my kids have the hat gene. They will wear them in the winter thankfully but no cute summer hats My DD use to rip out the clips too but she's 3 now and has been wearing them for over a year now and enjoying them.

Re: Hair Clips, Hats - please tell me I am not alone
Up until this week my 20mth old would not wear clips and suddenly after I showed her me with all my hair in my face and how much nicer I was with a clip in she decided she would be nicer with one too so she let me put it in!!
Last year she was terrible with hats so I am anticipating the same this winter but how knows..maybe if I wear a hat she will!!
Oh and I am using bigger clips - ones from an ebay seller not the small ones as I too am afraid she will choke and I remove them when she is napping.

Sydney does better with rubber bands than clips. She pulls the clips out right away but she doesnt usually touch the rubber bands. She also refuses to wear hats.

Re: Hair Clips, Hats - please tell me I am not alone
no not alone, Isabella hates clips, bows, hats, etc. I thoguht it was getting better. I'll ask her id she wants a pretty bow, she'll nod yes, I put it in, she walks away, 30 seconds later she comes to me and says "pretty" as she hands me the bow. What I don't get is that evry single time she gets dressed, she'll ask for a pretty. So I go through this routine of putting it in, just for her to take it out
