Hair Help

I stupidly let my sister talk me into getting a perm. I absoulty hate it. I look like a poodle. I know that I have to wait at least 2 wks to have any other chemical treatments done...but what do I do?

TIA

If you wash it right after you get it, doesn't that bring the curl down? (or are those just instructions I recall from the 80s)Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I did wash it right away...but its still way too curly. I wanted big loose curls. Instead I look like I'm bringing back 1984

Re: Hair Help

Maybe an anti-curl? Your hair might be lighter though. Did the stylist use small rollers when you got the perm, or are you just sensitive to the chemicals?

I think my hair is overly sensitive to chemicals...plus i had a c-section a month ago...so the drugs could also be effecting how my hair took to the chemicals...at least that is what they told me at the salon

They are right it absolutely could be affecting the chemicals reaction on your hair. It has been a long time since I worked in a salon, but there used to be a product called anti-curl. From what I remember it is a mild relaxer & was safe for permed & highlighted hair. Maybe that is what your salon will use.

Thanks for the info...I'm going to call and find out how soon I can get something done to fix this horrible error in judgement.
