Hair Salons and Nail Salons
How come some places won't let you put tip on your debit/credit card. And some do?

It can be costly to accept them - they are charged transaction fees and a percent of the total to the credit card companies.
I am sure some of them may not report all the income either.

Re: Hair Salons and Nail Salons
It is always better to tip in cash. When you tip on a CC a percentage of the tip goes to the buisness to help cover their costs. Where I work they take 10% of our CC tips. On a night where 95% of my tips are on CC's it makes a difference.
