Half-day Kindergarten in Elwood SD - enrichment options?

Hi, So I am new to Elwood and ready to register my 5 year old into kindergarten. I'm saddened to see it's only half a day and am convinced children and esp. my daughter need more. What do parents in this area do for enrichment? Any parents recommend any groups or schools to look into? Are there educational organizations that can offer guidance in this area? I'm considering not registering her at all and perhaps a full day Montessori? Any pros and cons with this?Thanks.

My nephew is in Elwood and he did an enrichment program they offer right at the school. You can choose am enrichment where after they will walk him right to his kindergarten class or they have pm enrichment. My SIL loved that they offered this and still do. I would call the district office for further info.

Just want to add they also have early care and after care programs.

Scope does all the extended day/enrichment programs for half day kindergartens in Long Island... Have you called them?

My dd will be in K this sept. In elwood too. They have an enrichment program that is run by the district that makes it full day. I am trying to find out how much that is. They also have before and after care, which I have heard that you can pay by the day for that.
