half-marathon - update

i'm running my first half tomorrow and feeling underprepared. my first goal is to finish...then i'll be happy to finish under three hours and ecstatic if it's near 2:45..lol. i figure if i have to walk it, i'll have to walk it....we'll see how it goes...

i'm just proud of myself for doing this after barely being able to do week 1 day 1 of C25K on january 1st....i would've never thought i would be here 10 months ago!!!

-----------------------------------------------
thanks for your words of encouragement. i ran my first half and the most miles/longest straight run i've ever done today - 13.44 miles in 2 hours 32 minutes! who knew?? it was an amazing feeling to know that i could do anything i put my mind to. WOW - if you're thinking about doing it one day....DO IT!!!!!

Fantastic!! Congrats on finishing in such great time! I just did my first 5K on Saturday and am also a C25K graduate. I am thinking of doing a Half next year if I continue to enjoy running and can get faster (I'm doing a 11:48 m/m now). You are an inspiration to this beginner!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

awe, thanks!!!

congratulations to you as well! my first 5k had me at a pace of 12:55 - so you blew me away, already! I followed hal higdon's novice plan for the 1/2 but due to time, child care issues, etc...only ran up to 7.5 miles at one time...i was worried i wouldn't finish b/c i've never run that much...i def. recommend you try to train properly..my knees were killing me yesterday, but are much better today.

if you set your mind to it..u can do it...trust me! once you realize you can run 3 miles, nothing can stop you!!!Chat Icon
