People kept trying to give me candy for the babies. I was like no thanks, I have more than enough candy for myself at home that I don't need to eat right now! Landon got sooo much candy and I don't let him eat candy! he can have the pretzels, goldfish, and some M&Ms and thats it!

Depends how young. I mean babies with no teeth and not walking...a little strange IMO. We stayed home at that age and dressed up to hand out candy, not take any.

Last year I brought him to my neighbors that I was friends with so they could see him, but refused any candy

Same here (DS was 11 days old) but this year I took candy, if even from only the 5 houses we went to!

I don't think so! Today we went trick-or-treating with a group of people and 2 of the kids were babies, but people still gave them candy. Heck, most of the people were offering the adults candy also! I think people just want to get the candy out of the house so they can get rid of the temptation!Chat Icon (says the girl with no trick-or-treaters and a bucket of candy calling her name)

We took the baby to 2 of our neighbors so they could see him and they gave us candies for us. Maybe next year we'll take him trick or treat and take candies.

Re: Halloween-If you have babies is it weird asking people for candy?

DS is almost 10 months old and I wasnt going trick or treating with him. I would feel weird (and like a fat mess) if I walked up to the door with him bc they know its for me Chat Icon

I was surprised at how many babies being held were going up to the doors, but they were with older kids too. I didnt care, I thought it was cute and of course gave the parents candy anyway, but since we had no older kids to go with I thought it would be weird for just me and DS.

We just went to houses of people we knew well - and it was more to show him off in his costume.

He got a lot of candy - I put it in the pile of the leftover candy I had and split it - DH is taking half and I'm taking the other half to work.

I thought it would be, but apparently, the whole neighborhood disagreed because everyone gave Sienna candy today. Neither of us can eat it though! Chat Icon

We did last year, I just gave the candy to DSS Chat Icon

This year I made a bunch of recycled crayons and passed them out to the little little kids (I asked the parents if they would prefer candy or crayons) I figure they could hang on to them until they could use them. They were pretty popular!

I didnt think I would feel weird, but it was a little awkward at times because they knew that the the babies werent going to be eating a snickers.Chat Icon

It was kinda for the novelty of it though...it was DS's first halloween ever and he looked so darn cute in his puppy dog costume...I had to share it with the neighbors. The fact they were giving candy out was just a bonusChat Icon

I felt a little weird, but everyone loved him and was excited to talk to the baby. I don't really care what others thought, DS had a blast his first Halloween.
