halls or restaurants w/outdoor area?
I'm driving myself crazy trying to find a place to host a coed shower for my sister! The list will be about about 80 people (kids and adults) and she's hoping for something casual and fun. Since we're timing it for late May, early June, I'd love to explore some places that have an outdoor area.
She was thinking maybe something like a backyard party except we don't know anyone with a backyard big enough to fit that many people!
I considered reserving space in a park, but I think most of those NYSP places don't let you hire a caterer to come in and set up, right?
Ideally, a VFW or KOC or whatever with an outdoor area where I can bring in a caterer would be ideal. If not, some restaurants with an outdoor area would be cool too, although I'm only looking to spend no more than $35pp if possible.
Locations can be anywhere islandwide though western Suffolk/Nassau/eastern Queens is most preferred.
ANY and all suggestions would be appreciated!
TIA!!!!!

What about the Queens County Farm Museum? I have no idea about pricing, but it would be indoor/outdoors and you MUST bring everything in yourself.
ETA: I think you may be able to have a caterer come in in some parts of Prospect Park, too. They have a few different areas to rent out.

I didn't even know a place like Queens County Farm existed! I will definitely have to check them out.
Prospect Park is a bit out of the way but I will keep that as an option too.
Thanks!

You many want to try Hofstra University Club. One of their downstairs function rooms lead to an outdoor area. It fits your budget too, and I must say the food is delish! We had my son's christening party there.

My family has had a few parties at Christ the King church in East Meadow. They have a decent sized hall (its used as a school during the week) with a pretty big outdoor area. You bring in all the food and drinks yourself and have to set everything up and put everything away yourself. here is the link its not fancy at all but to rent it I'm sure is not alot of money

Town parks usually have their own caterer that you need to use, should you have onsite catering... State parks may or may not use the same one... each town is different so you need to call and find out.
we did it for my DSs 1st birthday. had a full caterer in the park.. it was fantastic...

Check out the Amity Harbor Civic Association! We had our engagement party at their club. It's like a VFW hall, except there's a huge green lawn and it's right on the water with a deck.
