Has anyone gotten a job this way?

Jackie,
Go to New Hyde Park- Garden City Park's school district web site. I saw in the last week a posting for an elementary reading/literacy teacher.
Good Luck!
Keri PS. Don't feel bad, I am back to my Queens(NYC) job...7 years of trying and no LI job for me

Re: Handing resumes in person
Can't hurt. New teacher turnover is pretty huge. At the HS I worked at in the City, 3-5 teachers (sometimes more) every year would run away screaming during the first week and needed to be replaced. So if you go in person, you'd be in the right place at the right time.
Good luck!
