That's not the only reason, by a long shot...
Sedition has consequences. Inciting a riot has consequences. If he isn't punished for these violent acts, then the next Fascist wannabe is going to have free reign to do even worse.
If he *can't* run in 2024, it makes it harder for him to grift millions from his sheep for his campaign. He will still get money from them, because there will always be some people that think he'll be able to be president again, but hopefully it will make it harder for him to establish PACs, and use campaign rules to steal money.

I really feel like you don't "get things". He's not being impeached to keep him from running again, he's being impeached because it is ESSENTIAL that Congress set a precedent that sedition and treason will NOT be tolerated from anyone, even the POTUS. His is being impeached because he committed high crimes and misdemeanors and MUST be held accountable for his actions.
What would it say to the world and the American people if Congress did nothing but give him a slap on the wrist and brush this aside? Again, PRECEDENT! He HAS to go, he absolutely is a clear and present danger to our country.
