Is Everyone Hanging out Without Me by Mindy Kaling.
It's such a fun little memoir, kept me laughing on a plane.
So sorry for your loss

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Pretty much anything by Laurie Notaro or Chelsea Handler.
If you're looking for actual novels: The Devil Wears Prada, Plan B by Jonathan Tropper, Bridget Jones's Diary, Sushi for Beginners, or Bitter is the New Black by Jen Lancaster.

Re: happy books
I'm so sorry for your loss. I recently went through a tough time and these were the books I read/re-read to get my mind off things, all are pretty feel good books:
The Best Man - Kristan Higgins Let's Pretend This Never Happened - Jenny Lawson Bridget Jones's Diary - Helen Fielding Girls In White Dresses - Jennifer Close
