Harder to get pregnant second time around?
Did it take anyone longer to get pregnant the second time around?

I got pg the first month we started trying...even after the 1st baby. I really think it depends on each person.

I am 24. We've been trying for almost 16 months. My OBGYN called it Secondary Infertility. I was dx with PCOS. I am seeing a RE now and talking Metformin and Clomid to help me get pregnant. I never thought it would be this hard or take this long. I got pregnant with my son very quickly. I was 18. I guess I assumed it would be that easy again. It has been a hard road.
ETA: I know lots of girls on here and in RL who had no problems what so ever getting pg again. I think its different for every person.

I too have "secondary infertility". Had no trouble the first time around. We are now going on 19 months of trying (got PG in Oct. but had a m/c).

I got pregnant in my first month of trying first time around. Miscarried at 7 weeks and got pregnant again one little week later. I assumed conceiving #2 would be just as easy.
WRONG.
I've been off the pill since Jan. 07  Really trying since May 07. Consulted with an RE October 07, started IUI's, unmedicated, in February, and just embarked on injectables this month.
It seems secondary infertility is more prevalent, statistically speaking, than primary infertility.
And in one word... it SUC!KS!!

A friend of mine is going through this right now. She's been trying for about a year. Her daughter is 3 and a half and they had no problems TTC with her.

My daughter was a surprise. Then we conceived our second month trying, but I miscarried. Now we're on the 4th month since the m/c & nothing yet

Two of my friends are having a lot of difficulty the second time around. One had a miscarriage and the other's been trying for like 8 months. The first time they both got preggy the first time they tried.

I have heard the opposite. I know lots of ladies that struggled to get pg for the first and had less trouble after that. Who knows.
ETA: Maybe age is the culprit for those who have trouble the second time around??

2nd time - 1st try (ended in mc)
3rd time - still trying :) It's been about 4 months
