Hardwood floors and crawling, any tips?
Will the baby be happy to crawl around on the floor? What have you done to ensure a happy crawling experience? TIA!

Re: Hardwood floors and crawling, any tips?
My DS didn't really care whether he was crawling on carpet, wood, tile, or whatever. My only tip is, there WILL be bumps and bruises once they get mobile no matter what you do!

True! I just made sure to have ample area rugs. The worst was when DD first started crawling and she was face-plant on hardwood. Before you know it babies get used to all terrains.

DD had no problem. I did buy a few pairs of the Target version of Bobux shoes (like Robeez). She needed something to stop her feet from slipping.

DS happily crawls around on our hardwood floors. He doesn't care for tile. When on the tile he walks on his hands and feet. No knees down.

Re: Hardwood floors and crawling, any tips?
When Kev was a baby - I had very few area rugs and he was crawling by mid 7th month - no issues. Alex is only crawling backwards now (just turned 7 months) and he doesn't seem to mind foor or rug but when you put him on hw - he is much quicker!! I leave for a second and come back and he is under a bed - lol.

Re: Hardwood floors and crawling, any tips?
We have hardwood floors - DD had issues with it at first until she really had the crawling under her belt - We got a mat for the living room and tried to encourage the crawling upstairs in her playroom where there is a rug rather than on our first floor which is all hardwood.

I have hardwood and DD has no issues crawling around.
same with my DD I put Robeez on her in the beginning since she was crawling it was still cold out and she would slip in socks when she crawled somewhere to pull herself up.

Re: Hardwood floors and crawling, any tips?
They are 100% soft leather, like slippers. They just came out with toddler ones too.
I have 2 pairs of PEdipeds for my DD, but they were still slippery onthe bottom and DD would just undo the velco on them.
Robeez
YOu can get these also in some stores like buy buy baby, stride rite.

We also have all hardwoods with no rugs so I'm glad this question was posted. DD has just started to kinda crawl but it looks hard on her with the smooth floor. Glad to see that when they get going the type of floor doesn't seem to matter as much.
