Harpers Bazaar
is it just me or is this magazine the most unrealistic publication? I know it's great to see celebs dressed to the nine's and alll... but come on!
At the nail salon yesterday I was looking through the issue w/J. Lo on the cover. they had a "gift giving ideas" section and it's full of things like Mont Blanc pen for $1500, LV agenda for $500, D&G bikini for $1200, shoes for $1300, bra and panties for $650, a $40K bracelet. I mean seriously... do the people that can afford these gifs actually subscribe to this magazine? because IMO, the ppl who pay the $10 a yr subscription price, aren't running out to buy $1300 Prada booties.
it's just silly... I felt like such crap after I finished looking at it. I'm so freakin poor

I totally agree with you!!! I think they are targeting the wealthy. I do not think they have poor people in mind to give those kinds of gifts.

Girl, I know what you mean When I say poor I mean people who are not wealthy to buy these gifts without feeling a pinch in their pockets. KNIW?

Trust me I know!!! My DH loves Mont Blanc pens but he did not pay $1300 for it. I mean it an expensive pen but you can get them at Lee's Art Shop for a bit less.

HB issues aren't always like that.
And HB is no different than Vogue, Elle and W.

I don't like HB, Vogue, Elle, W.....it's out of my reach.
I DO like:
Lucky Shop Etc. (now defunct) Allure--love Allure. They have the best cover photogs. Everyone looks amazing on the cover.

I stopped getting all those magazines- they are just advertisments - and they all have the same things
I like my gossips mags and glamour

I like my gossips mags and glamour I stopped subscribing to Glamour b/c it was geared towards single women IMO. not sure if it's still like that.

Re: Harpers Bazaar
I got so sick of those types of magazines too. Now, I'll only get my "gossip" mags and Glamour or Allure. Some of the diet/fitness/health ones are pretty good too.

Re: Harpers Bazaar
Oh geez...I stopped getting Glamour back in high school. It was too fuddy-duddy back then.
Can't say I've ever been into gossip mags. They're usually a last resort for me when in a waiting room.
You want to read an absurd magazine...try Cookie. It's targeted towards "upscale" moms, but it cracks me up because they do kids clothing editorials with $300 sweaters for toddlers.
