Has Amazon always charged for returns?
I just tried retuning something through Amazon & they are charging me $6-$7 peritem to return because each item is from a different order. So annoying because I could have packed them in the same box. But I also don't ever remember paying for returns to Amazon.

Re: Has Amazon always charged for returns?
It depends. Some transactions/sellers have free returns, others do not.

Yeah, it depends on the reason why you are returning. If it's defective/broken, there usually isn't a charge.

If putting them in the same box and paying shipping yourself is cheaper, I would call and ask if you can do that. Yes, they have always charged for return shipping unless it says free returns when you buy the item. (o the product page where it says prime or free shipping, it will also say free returns if it applies)

Re: Has Amazon always charged for returns?
You can't combine items if they are on multiple labels. If the items were from the same order initially, most times cs can put them on a single label for you.
You will always pay return shipping if say it's your fault you're returning the item, so for instance if you say you didn't like it or don't want it you['ll pay.
You won't pay return shipping on broken, damaged, defective items or items that were received in error, items that are not as described etc.
