Has anybody had a pituitary tumor? (Repost from Infertility)
An MRI just confirmed why my hormones are going out of whack. I'd really like to hear from anybody that has had one, whether it be posted or through FM. I'm at a loss for what's going to happen next. I know there are 3 options: medicine, radiation, surgery.

I personally haven't had this. But I think it partly depends what hormone it is. What did your doctor say?

The tumor seems to be the prolactin producing tumor. They have to do more tests to see if it's doing more hormones.

I know that bromocriptine is used to restore ovulation in prolactinomas but I don't know what they do if you get PG...

I think it's going to be a while until I know anything. I'm being sent to a neurologist. Whenever I find out anything, I'll let you know.

Re: Has anybody had a pituitary tumor? (Repost from Infertility)
Not TTC, just lurking, but yes,my dad has one, which is rare because women usually do. He is on medicine (a lot) to control it...surgery is not something we are thinking of yet. His hormones were messed up, too, but the discovery of the tumor led us to then discover he has prostate cancer...so it was a blessing in disguise because he is undergoing radiation implant for the cancer, and is doing fine. It hasn't spread.
The tumor has not grown, but we keep an eye on it. His headaches finally led him to the doctor. FM me if you want more info!
