Has anyone been to Domincian Republic?
my DH and I are looking into going to an all-inclusive in Dominican Republic in June. Has anyone been there? any feedback, good or bad.

It's beautiful. They have different parts you can go. Where are you planning to go?
Right now, Punta Cana is a popular destination. it's absolutely beautiful there.
Puerto Plata resorts are beautiful too, which is in the north side of the country. I've been there a few times.
They also have resorts in La Romana which is on the east side of the country. Beautiful there too.
You should definitely stay in all-inclusive and the food is usually is pretty good. People are warm and friendly.
Nice place to visit....

I've been there, but not in "good" spots. I was in Santa Domigo, but that was about 11 years ago. Like all cities it has good and bad places.
My sister went a few years ago, and as long as you stay around the resorts it's ok. She went on an excursion a little ways away from the mant part, and she was quite upset about all the poverty down there.

We stayed at Secrets this past August and loved it!!! I have nothing bad to say about the place... back in August, I posted a review of it with pics too on the travel board if you want to do a search.

we went to Punta Cana once, stayed at Iberostar Dominicana... and we also went to LaRomana once, stayed at Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus... I love Iberostar resorts!!! DR is great just not much to do, good place just to rest and relax...

We went to the Club Med in Dominican Republic about 4 or 5 years ago and it was beautiful... there wasn't much outside of the resort though.

I third the vote for Secrets resorts! You should check out Travel. There have been a lot of threads about DR.

DH and I stayed in La Romana,- which is right next to Casa de Campo where all the rich and movie stars own homes, Punta Cana is way too much like Cancun. We wanted a more romantic type vacation. we stayed at the wyndham dominicas palace. it was BEAUTIFUL- all inclusive and the beach was private and HUGE!

we went to Secrets Resorts in Punta Cana...couples only, no singles either. What an amazing time...it truly was the perfect honeymoon and SO reasonably priced!!!
