I live right here and I haven't heard anything bad about it, but when you say nice do you mean that you would have to dress up kind of nice?

DH and I went there for our first Valentine's Day
I loved it. The food is really good. As for dressing up, I'd wear something a little nicer, nothing too fancy though.

I haven't been there in a few years, but back then they only took cash or their house charge - no other credit cards.
It was very good, but I prefer Bryant & Cooper which is a little further east on Northern Blvd.

I'm sure it's nice - it's always packed with car lining up to get in. It's a landmark...not sure about the inside. I heard the burgers are great too.

Yes, it is nice. You can go business casual and be fine. I'm sure you could get away with dark denim and a nice top if you want. Great food!!

Re: Has anyone been to Peter Lugers in Great Neck?
It's a classic! Not as classic as it's original location-I will warn you that it's not romantic...it's a classic steakhouse and yes, it's delicious..

I go there all the time, love the food. I wouldn't say it has "ambiance" as in romantic, that's for sure. It's dated inside (original decor but kept for the nostalgia) and the waiters are very old school (not always pleasant!) but they do one thing right, serve awesome food. So if you are looking for romantic place to eat steak, it's not the place. I would try Ruth Chris instead, has more ambiance IMO.

I work down the block. Its very nice and very expensive.
Its worth the $$, but we would only go on a special occasion.

FYI I think it's cash only unless you have a Peter Lugers Charge card.

It's ok - very loud and I'm not overly impressed w/ their steaks -
I'd go to Morton's instead - Incredible !!
