What is different about the Thomas event then just riding the regular railroad....anything?
I'm wondering if it's worth taking DD to see Thomas in June. Thanks.

Ohhhh it was so fun! We went with my nephew last summer!
They get to take a short train ride ON THOMAS's train. You get to meet Sir Topham Hat (Sp??) Picture with Thomas There were a few other things going on too (but I forget) plus in general the RR museum was awesome too, my nephew I think loved that more then Thomas.

We went last summer.I think you could go any weekend but if your DC is into Thomas then it is special. The ride is bumpy.
They had a merchandise tent. Bounce toy Straw bail maize Small horse/goat petting zoo Thomas movie Photo opportunity with Sir Thopham Hat Some food vendors Lego Thomas that you could control with a remote Stamp activity If you went to all of the different locations with this map and got it stamped you could get a "prize" - a 3D Thomas poster and glasses of the Hero of the Rails movie.
At the merchandise tent they sell this passenger car that is dated for the year you go. It is one of DSs favorite toys. We also got him a Thomas plate. About a block away from the Thomas event (a long block) was a pub type place and the food was good. They even gave a discount because we were at the Thomas event. There is also a cute Train museum and at the event they had a small replica circus train that this elderly man and his father built back in the early 1920s. He was very nice. He explained to us how each circus piece was made by hand.

Thank you. We went to the Strasburg railroad last year for just the train ride...and DD liked it. There is a restaurant not far from there, called Shady Maple ...THE BEST BUFFET I have ever been too....and CHEAP! So, that is the reason we go to that area
