Ovidrel without Clomid for an IUI?

This is our first month having any assistance. I had a FemVue sono to check tube patency. All looks good there. Since the FemVue was CD 9, it was too late to start a Clomid cycle. I asked the Dr. if I could do an unmedicated IUI this cycle and that's what we are going with. They did give me Ovidrel to take home today at my monitoring appt. and I am waiting to see when I will inject it. If we are out this month our plan is Clomid next month.

Anyone do just Ovidrel/IUI without Clomid or injectables? I O on my own each month and have a very regular cycle. DH's SA is all within normal limits so we are unexplained infertility.

Yes I did one of my IUIs like that. The ovidrel will help you with timing. It is an easy shot.

Re: Has anyone done

Thank you! I have to go in again tomorrow for monitoring. I know I'm getting close to O so maybe they'll have me trigger tomorrow. I'll be at a block party with 2 of my best friends that have done IVF so they can help with the injection if needed. I think the initial build up & mental block of sticking the needle in will be the worst part for me.

Honestly that needle is an easy one. This coming from the girl who has done 100s of shots (seriously). In the beginning I had my husband do all of my shots but now I can do most of them on my own. The hardest part is talking yourself into sticking yourself because its not natural to inflict pain on yourself. You got this!

Thank you! And, yes, I'm not concerned about the pain really. Just actually sticking myself.
