We've done Kalahari a few times but, are most likely going to Camelback with friends this winter - mainly because they have tubing there along with the waterpark.

How do they compare? I've heard good things about Camelback from people who haven't been to Kalahari so I was curious.

I have not been to Kalahari, but how old are your kids? A lot of the rides at Camelback are for bigger kids. My 10 year was scared to do some of the slides they have there. My sister has been to both, and likes Kalahari better. Her kids are younger than mine.

They will be 8 and almost 6. We are going with another family who chose it because they want to go snow tubing...

I looked at the height requirements and my little guy can go on almost everything it seems, as compared to Kalahari... (but, he's more cautious so i'm sure he won't).

Yes, height wise is fine, scare factor...some of them are crazy. Like the ones you go in and shut the door and the floor drops! Even the regular tube slides are FAST to me, especially compared to GWL. The Venus Slide Trap ride (the mouth looking one) is fun, and we didn't think that one was overly scary

Oh yes - Kalahari has that one too and my son hates it! It’s like the Aquadunk on the Magic - he was so excited to try it and said never again.

I guess we will try it and see since the other family wants to do it for the outdoor activities...

Their lazy river is really awesome! It's underground for part of it...pretty neat, they will definitely love that!

I have been to both. I have only been to Kalahari before they added on the extension. There are things I like better at Camelback, such as the lazy river, and some tube rides, plus the snow tubing. But then, I also like the family big tube rides at Kalahari. They kiddie area is really nice and big for little ones.
My kids prefer the bigger, faster rides.
I think they are both pretty good. Kalahari also has the outdoor zipping as well.

So we have been to both now.

Water park wise - Kalahari blows Camelback away. The little kid areas are a lot better and there are so many more slides.

The only good thing is that they aren’t all over you if your kid doesn’t have a life jacket in the kiddie area...

I would only do Camelback if you planned on skiing and tubing. If you just want to do the water park - Kalahari is the way to go.

Unfortunately we had crappy weather so the water park was mobbed!
