Has anyone done the Circle line tour?

If you have, which one have you done (3 hour, 2 hour)? Was there food to puchase? What did you think of it?
We're thinking of taking a tour with out of town family who have never been to NY. Just looking for some input.
TIA

Dh and I went a few years ago. I think it was the 3 hr trip. We had a great captain who was informative and funny. I learned so much about NY history!

Even if your family aren't history buffs, it's a nice ride to see the sights.

I did the 3-hour tour once a few years ago. It was nice and the 2 guys I took were from China and had never been to NY before; they LOVED seeing the Statue of Liberty. As for food, I think they only had snacks like candy and chips, I don't remember any real food options.

I did the three-hour cruise around Manhattan a few times. It's fun and relaxing and the commentary from the guide over the PA system is very informative. You see sights like the Statue of Liberty, Financial District, Brooklyn Bridge, South St. Seaport, and Yankee Stadium (new one farther back).

My last trip was a few years back, but I think I remember a snack bar on board as well as vending machines.

The dock is on W. 42nd St. and 12th Ave. (West Side Hwy.) just a few yards across from the Intrepid. Hope everyone has a good time. Chat Icon

Re: Has anyone done the Circle line tour?

yes, I did the 3-hour one a few years ago because i lived in one of the towers near 12th ave so I figured why not? I really enjoyed it! We sat upstairs on the left had side of the boat so we were on the side that always faced Manhattan. I assume the boats still start by heading towards downtown. I don't remember if there was food, but I know my mom and I brought along water bottles.
