Has anyone done the 'Day out with Thomas' train ride?

We are looking to take our boys this spring or summer. There are various dates/locations and just curious what people's thoughts are about this. I am nervous to buy tickets in advance and it rains but the website says rain or shine.

Besides riding the train, how are the other activities?

we've been twice. One time it was sunny and another time it rained. It is small, but to my son... it was the best.

Inside they have some train tables set up for the kids to play on and some bigger model trains set up in glass tables. You can meet Sir Topham Hat. There is a big gift shop. There is a section where they can color thomas pictures, get thomas tattoos, small rides for ages 3+. Food. Balloon artist. Etc etc.

Again, to my husband and i, it was small. But it was the best to my son so that's all that matters. Chat Icon

In my opinion...you do not need to get tickets online ahead of time. There were plenty of seats on the train. Do Dutch wonderland with it, not enough to do there for an entire day...tattoos, train tables, overpriced gift shop, hand crank trains,...

We went in September. It was very nice weather and we went during the morning around 11. I ordered the tickets online. There are lots of other rides for the kids, places to get ice cream, and stores. It was a lot of fun!
